SMS Terms & Messaging Disclosure
Effective: May 5, 2026
These SMS Terms describe the text-messaging program operated by Third Place Pools Corp ("Meet Pete," "we," "us," or "our") on behalf of the trade businesses that use the Meet Pete platform (each, a "Trade Business"). By providing your mobile number and consenting to receive text messages from a Trade Business that uses Meet Pete, you agree to these SMS Terms.
Quick summary. Meet Pete sends only transactional SMS messages on behalf of Trade Businesses — appointment confirmations, technician ETAs, and dispatcher alerts. Frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing.
1. Program operator
The SMS program is operated by Third Place Pools Corp through the Meet Pete platform. Messages are sent on behalf of the Trade Business that you contacted directly (for example, the plumbing, HVAC, or electrical contractor servicing your home or property). Meet Pete provides the technology; the Trade Business is the sender of record and the entity with whom you have a service relationship.
2. Program description and message types
Messages sent through Meet Pete fall into a small set of transactional categories tied to a specific service interaction:
- Service request acknowledgments — confirming we received your call or web request and a technician will follow up.
- Appointment confirmations and reminders — date and time of a scheduled service visit.
- Technician ETA updates — when a technician is on the way, including approximate arrival time.
- Job status updates — completion notices, follow-up instructions, or rescheduling notifications.
- Dispatcher and operator alerts — internal job notifications sent to dispatchers, owners, or technicians employed by a Trade Business.
We do not send marketing messages, promotional offers, sweepstakes entries, or bulk content through the Meet Pete SMS program.
3. How you opt in
Consent to receive SMS messages is captured at the point you contact a Trade Business. The specific path varies, but every opt-in path includes a clear disclosure of the program, frequency, cost, opt-out instruction, and a link or reference to these SMS Terms and the Privacy Policy. Opt-in paths include:
- Web form. When you submit a service request on a Trade Business's website (or on meetpete.work), the form contains an unchecked checkbox stating: "I agree to receive transactional SMS messages from [Business Name] about my service request. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See SMS Terms and Privacy Policy." Consent is recorded with a timestamp, IP address, and the disclosure text shown.
- Phone. When you call a Trade Business and provide your mobile number, the agent (whether a human dispatcher or Meet Pete's voice agent) reads a scripted disclosure and asks for explicit verbal consent. Verbal consent is logged in the Meet Pete CRM with a timestamp and the script version used.
- In person. When a technician schedules a return visit on-site, the customer signs a service ticket containing the same SMS disclosure printed at the bottom. The signed ticket is retained as the consent record.
Internal dispatcher and operator alerts are sent to employees and contractors of a Trade Business who consent at the time of hire or engagement, as a condition of their dispatcher or technician role.
4. Message frequency
Frequency varies based on the service interaction. A typical service request results in 2–5 messages (acknowledgment, confirmation, ETA, completion). Recurring service relationships may generate additional appointment-related messages over time. Total volume per recipient is generally low — fewer than 100 messages in any given month.
5. Cost
Meet Pete and the Trade Business do not charge for SMS messages. However, message and data rates may apply from your wireless carrier. Check your mobile plan for details.
6. Opt out
You can opt out of the SMS program at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive. After you reply STOP, you will receive one final confirmation message and no further SMS messages from that Trade Business through the Meet Pete platform. To opt back in later, reply START or contact the Trade Business directly to re-enroll.
7. Help
For help, reply HELP to any message. You will receive a reply containing the program name, the Trade Business's contact information, and a reference to these SMS Terms. You can also email support@meetpete.work or contact the Trade Business directly.
8. Supported carriers
The Meet Pete SMS program is compatible with major U.S. carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, U.S. Cellular, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
9. Privacy and data sharing
Mobile information acquired as part of the SMS consent process — including phone numbers, opt-in records, and message content — will not be sold, rented, shared, or transferred to any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is shared only with the limited set of subprocessors necessary to deliver the message itself (telecommunications carriers and our SMS gateway), and only for the purpose of delivery.
For full details on how we collect, use, and protect personal information, see our Privacy Policy.
10. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, and the account holder of the mobile number provided, to enroll in this SMS program.
11. Changes
We may modify or terminate the SMS program at any time. Material changes will be communicated via SMS or email to active recipients before they take effect.
